By June 20th, 2011, 43 graduates from the FFL have been admitted to graduate programs of universities from home and abroad, accounting for 22% of the total number of BA graduates of 2011. Of all the graduates, 16 were admitted to universities in the Chinese Mainland, 27 were admitted to universities outside the Chinese Mainland, amounting for 8% and 14% of the total number respectively.

Of the 16 students who were admitted to universities in the Chinese Mainland, 10 applied for the postgraduate programs of English majors. Most of them chose their study orientation in interpreting, translation and linguistics. For example, Zhang Liang was admitted to Beijing Foreign Studies University, Zhang Qi to Beijing Normal University; and Zhu Xiaotong to Sun Yat-sen University. Others were admitted to such universities as Dalian University of Foreign Languages and Sichuan International Studies University. Six graduates applied for postgraduate programs of other majors, such as Wang Jingzhu, who applied for the HR major of Sichuan University.

This year, an increasing number of graduates of the FFL have been admitted to better universities than before, including many world top-ranking universities. Of the 27 students who are going to universities outside the Chinese Mainland for further study, 11 will go to Hong Kong, 8 to the United Kingdom, 4 to America and 1 to Macau, Australia, Singapore and France respectively. Many of them will enter world top-ranking universities. For example, 6 students received offers from top thirty universities of the UK. Luo Qian got the offer from University College London, which is one of the world’s top universities, also known as the third oldest university in the United Kingdom. And Zhu Ruodie got the offer from the University of York. In addition, 5 graduates will enter Chinese University Of Hong Kong, and 2 students will enter City University of Hong Kong.

With the desire of further study, high language proficiency in English and the sense of international competition, more and more students succeed in entering top-ranking universities both at home and abroad. The fact that more and more graduates are admitted to international universities suggests that the academic excellence of the FFL is recognized by the world.
