Jeremy Jenkin is from Buffalo, New York. When he was 18 he was in the United States Army for 4 years. Afterwards he received his BA from Appalachian State University in Sociology and his MA in Taiwan studies from National Chengchi University in Taipei.

The first is about Jeremy''s experience hiking the Appalachian trail, a 3,500 km foot path from Georgia to Maine that took six months to complete. The second part goes is about a cycling trip around the world. The first trip was across the USA and New Zealand but eventually includes Asia, the Middle East, and parts of Africa and south America. The trip took several years covered about 30,000 kms, including a bad accident in China where Jeremy broke his femur. The last part is about Jeremy''s experience commercial fishing in Alaska for salmon, halibut and dungeness crab. The lecture has some information about why and how Jeremy was able to do this, how he overcame problems and some interesting stories along the way.
