Dr. Bernard McHugh is Irish and holds a BA Degree in English and Philosophy (National University of Ireland, Galway); a Higher Diploma in Education, majoring in English and Mathematics (NUI Galway); a Masters in Literature (Open University, UK); and a PhD in Literature (NUI Maynooth). He has taught English at Dublin City University, Ireland; Baotou Teachers’ College, Inner Mongolia; and Huizhou University, Guangdong, before moving to Beijing Normal University, Zhuhai. His research expertise lies in Ideology and Narrative form, which centres around the Eighteenth-Century Novel, and he has published works on Henry Fielding.
