Mr. James Daniel Morrell:
I''m from America - the Boston area, to be specific. I have been an English instructor at BNU-Zhuhai since Fall 2009. I currently teach oral English, as well as several sections of a lecture-oriented listening and speaking class.
I went to Reed College, in Portland, Oregon. I majored in English Literature, and wrote a senior thesis on William Shakespeare''s King Lear. In addition to Shakespeare, I also studied medieval and post-medieval literature; literary theory; classical and modern poetry; and classical and modern theater. Beyond English, and I also studied French language and literature; European history; western philosophy; and western humanities. I was also quite active in several student organizations and planning committees.
I love teaching here because it affords me the opportunity to work with eager, intelligent young minds. I find the students here to be very motivated to study, ask questions, and think creatively and without prejudice. I also love teaching in Southern Guangdong because of its optimal location for travel both inside and outside of China.
